Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 18, 2026
Fat2Fit ("Fat2Fit," "we," "our," or "us") is a fitness, nutrition, progress, and coaching app from ForgeByte Lab. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Fat2Fit mobile application (the "App").
Fat2Fit is designed for personal fitness tracking. It is not a medical device, and app-generated estimates, recommendations, food analysis, and coaching content should not replace advice from a qualified health professional.
1. Information You Choose to Provide
Depending on the features you use, Fat2Fit may store the following information on your device and, if enabled, through Apple services such as iCloud or CloudKit:
- Profile and goals: Name or nickname, age range, height, weight, fitness goals, preferences, and onboarding responses.
- Workout data: Exercises, sets, reps, duration, cardio sessions, training history, workout notes, and related progress metrics.
- Nutrition data: Food logs, calories, macros, water intake, recipes, barcode or search results, meal notes, and related nutrition estimates.
- Body progress: Weight history, measurements, progress photos, and goal tracking details you choose to add.
- User content: Journal entries, saved preferences, custom workouts, favorites, and other content you create in the App.
2. Apple Health and Fitness Data
If you grant Apple Health permission, Fat2Fit can read and/or write selected workout, activity, body, nutrition, and health-related data to support fitness tracking. HealthKit access is controlled by you in Apple Health permissions.
We do not sell HealthKit data. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising. We do not share HealthKit data with third parties for marketing.
3. Camera, Photos, Location, Notifications, and Apple Watch
- Camera and Photos: Used when you choose to add progress photos, scan foods or barcodes, or analyze food images.
- Location: Used only if you allow features such as outdoor workout route or activity context. You can disable location access in iOS Settings.
- Notifications: Used for reminders, workout nudges, streaks, or app alerts when you enable notifications.
- Apple Watch: Used to support watch-based workout tracking and workout communication between your iPhone and Apple Watch.
4. AI, Food, Recipe, and Barcode Features
Fat2Fit may include AI-assisted food, recipe, workout, and coaching tools. Some features may process information locally on your device, while others may use Apple services or app-configured online services to return food, recipe, barcode, or nutrition information.
By default, the AI coach and food analysis run on your device using Apple's on-device intelligence — there is no Fat2Fit AI server and no bundled API keys. You may optionally turn on an "enhanced cloud model" and enter your own third-party AI provider key (such as Anthropic, Google, or an OpenAI-compatible provider). Only then is the relevant coaching prompt or food photo sent directly from your device to that provider under your own account, governed by that provider's privacy policy. We never receive that data.
AI and nutrition outputs are estimates. You should review important health, allergy, calorie, macro, workout, and medical decisions yourself or with a professional.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card number. Apple may provide subscription status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, and purchase state so the App can unlock premium features.
6. How Information Is Stored
Most app data is stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync or use Apple account features, Apple may store and sync your data through iCloud or CloudKit under your Apple ID. Apple's terms and privacy policies govern Apple's services.
7. Third-Party Services
Fat2Fit does not sell your personal data and does not use third-party advertising. Certain optional features may rely on service providers for app functionality, such as Apple services for HealthKit, iCloud, StoreKit, Sign in with Apple, notifications, and Apple Watch, or food/recipe/barcode lookup services where available.
Where you use those features, the App may contact the following providers, sending only the search term you enter or the barcode you scan — never your name, account, or health data: Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central (food and barcode nutrition), TheMealDB (recipes), Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons (dish and exercise reference images and summaries), DuckDuckGo (the coach's optional web look-ups), and YouTube (exercise-form and cardio video search). Each provider has its own privacy policy.
8. Data Deletion
You can delete app data from inside Fat2Fit where available, delete local data from your device, and manage iCloud data through Apple settings. Deleting app data does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. Subscriptions must be managed through your Apple ID subscription settings.
9. Children's Privacy
Fat2Fit is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
